1.Pineta Palace
Accommodation is one of the most asked questions, the hotel I stayed at was Hotel Pineta Palace. I recommend choosing hotels where you can reach the city center by public transportation.
2.Vatican City
“Does it make sense to rent a car in Rome?” I would not recommend renting a car; parking and traffic is a big problem. You can use public transportation between the hotel and the center. Apart from that, Rome is a place to be visited on foot. If you are ready to take at least 20 thousand steps a day, here we go! You can buy a bus ticket from the hotel, if you take the bus to the Vatican from the bus stop 400-500 meters away from the hotel, you will be at the Vatican in a short time. By making the Vatican your first stop, you will have your Vatican tour at an early time and you will not deal with the crowds. As soon as you buy your ticket to Italy, I recommend you to buy online tickets to the Vatican museums because there is an incredible queue.
3.Sant' Angelo Castle (Castle of the Holy Angel)
Then we walk on foot to the Castle of Sant' Angelo (Castle of the Holy Angel), where you can buy your ticket in advance and take a short tour if you wish, you can capture beautiful shots while crossing the bridge in front of it.
4.Two Sizes
We stop by Two Sizes, the best tiramisu shop you can eat in Rome, get a classic tiramisu with pistachio and continue on our way.
5.Roscioli
Passing through the delightful narrow streets of Rome, we eat Rome's famous pan pizza at our first food stop Roscioli. This is one of the oldest bakeries in Rome. The one with margherita is very successful, you should definitely try it. Before I forget, there is a service fee in most of the places in Italy, if you don't want to pay the service fee, you should eat and drink standing or at the bar.
6.Novana Square
Rome consists of squares and they are called “Piazza”. In my opinion, the most beautiful square in Rome is the Piazza Novana, which is on your way.
7.Pantheon
After a short walk we are at the Pantheon. The entrance to the Pantheon, the Temple of the Gods, is free of charge, be sure to visit the inside. Don't be intimidated by the line, it moves fast. After admiring the architecture of the Pantheon, we have an espresso at the cafe right opposite and enjoy the view of the Pantheon.
8.Church of Ignoza Di Loyola
Then we go to the most magnificent church of Rome, the Church of S. Ignoza Di Loyola. We are mesmerized by the magnificent ceiling painting, take photos from the mirror on the floor and continue on our way. In Rome, you can drink water from the fountains on the streets, don't forget to fill your bottles with water!
9.Fontana Di Trevi, the Fountain of Love
Then we go to Fontana Di Trevi, the Fountain of Love, and throw money over our left shoulder to find true love and come back to Rome. Of course we don't throw Euros...
10.Giolitti
We came to Rome, why not have gelato? Giolitti is the oldest and best gelato shop in Rome. There are so many different and incredible choices, but choose fast. Italians can get a bit nervous about this.
11.Galleria Sciarra
If you want to see a magnificent late 19th century palace courtyard, I also recommend a visit to the nearby Galleria Sciarra.
12.Villa Borghese
On day 2, our first stop is Villa Borghese, a peaceful park with a lake and mansions and museums. We energize ourselves with a short tour here and continue on.
13.Villa Medici
The next route is Villa Medici, one of the villas belonging to a Medici family member from the 16th century. You can enter here by buying a ticket.
14.Pastificio Guerra
For those who want to eat fresh handmade pasta in Rome, I recommend Pastificio Guerra, which has been producing pasta for more than 100 years. You can eat standing inside or take away. Two types of pasta come out every day. We tried the tuna-tomato one, one serving: 4,5€
15.Pompi
Next is the Spanish Steps, home to many movies. We eat tiramisu at Pompi, one of the two most famous tiramisu shops in Rome.
16.Vittorio Emanuele II Monument
One of the most famous buildings in Rome is the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II in Piazza Venezia. The monument is made of white, pure marble, with majestic staircases and statues. The monument also contains the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, built after World War I. Don't miss it without stopping by.
17.Collesseum
Now we are in the Collesseum, a magnificent structure that has witnessed history, where gladiatorial battles were fought. You can visit it from the outside or you can buy a ticket and go inside.
18.Santi Cosma e Damiano
On the way there is the Basilica of Santi Cosma e Damiano, one of the oldest buildings in Rome, entrance is free.
19.Regoli Pasticceria
We come to Regoli Pasticceria, one of the most popular patisseries in Rome. Here you can buy a variety of donuts, pies and cakes.
20.Trattoria Da Enzo Al
You can have dinner at Trattoria Da Enzo al 29 with traditional Roman cuisine. We end the day here
21.Suppli
Day 3 we are in the Trastevere region. We have breakfast at the hotel, but if you have arranged accommodation without breakfast or an airbnb house, you can buy croissants from the nearest bakery and have a quick and classic Italian breakfast with espresso. Trastevere is one of the less touristic and more affordable parts of Rome. The place you should definitely visit in Trastevere is Suppli. “Suppli” are rice croquettes with tomato and mozzarella cheese and the most famous street food in Rome. The price is 2€. You are highly recommended to try it, you will love it.
22.Basilica of Santa Maria
I recommend you to try Aperol, the favorite alcoholic cocktail of Italians, in this region. It is made here in its best form. Another place you should visit in Trastevere is the Basilica of Santa Maria.
23.Bacco in Trastevere
Bacco in Trastevere is the place to eat handmade pasta. Order yourself a portion of Cacio e Pepe! You can compress the three days a little more and finish it in 2 days. It's all up to your travel speed and pleasure! For posts about Italy and other travels, my instagram username is @d1larabegum
