1. Meininger Great Market Hall
Before traveling to Budapest, which fascinates me both day and night, you can book at Meininger Great Market Hall hotel with peace of mind. It’s a very clean and centrally located hotel offering both hostel and hotel-style accommodations.
2. Meininger Great Market Hall Breakfast Area
We enjoyed a buffet breakfast at the hotel.
3. Great Market Hall
Our first route is the very famous Great Market Hall next to our hotel. Here you can find many things from traditional food to souvenirs.
4. Ervin Szabo Library
Then we go to the Ervin Szabo Library, also within walking distance. This is an actively used library with
magnificent architecture.
5. St. Stephen's Basilica - Christmas Market
Our next route is the Christmas Market in front of St Stephen's Basilica. You can come here both day and evening. If you come during the day, you can also go to the terrace of the Basilica.
6. Parliament Building
The Parliament Building, one of the symbols of Budapest, is our next route. The marvellous structure, embroidered like lace, is in a very beautiful location overlooking the Danube River
7. River Cruise on the Danube
If you want to take a river tour on the Danube, there are pleasant river tours. You can get tickets from Get Guide.
8. Chain Bridge
Then we cross the Chain Bridge over the Danube River to the Buda side.
9. Budapest Castle
Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church are among the places to see in Buda. You can use the funicular to go up to Buda Castle.
10. Fisherman’s Bastion
Fisherman's Bastion is a place where you will be alone with a magnificent view of Budapest. You should definitely include it in your list.
11. Matthias Church
Entrance to Matthias Church is 2500 HUF. I recommend visiting when you are here.
12. Fisherman’s Bastion Places
I suggest visiting Fisherman’s Bastion in the evening. After visiting, you should sit at one of the nearby places and see the evening view.
13. Dinner at Menza Etterem
You can have dinner at Menza Etterem, which serves traditional Hungarian cuisine with a modern twist. You can try the Hungarian speciality "Goulash" soup with beef
14. Hotel Breakfast
The next day we start with breakfast in our hotel with a pleasant view.
15. Chimney Cake Shop
We go to Chimney Cake Shop, which has many branches here. Not without trying the famous Hungarian dessert "Kürtőskalács"
16. New York Café
Our next destination is New York Cafe, which is flooded with tourists with the slogan "The most beautiful cafe in the world". They only accept reservations for dinner. Therefore, you have to risk waiting for 40 minutes. And it is definitely worth it.
17. Vajdahunyad Castle
Our next route is Vajdahunyad Castle, which looks like something out of a fairy tale. It has a magnificent architecture and ambience that will give you chills. There is an agricultural museum inside, but I didn't think it was worth visiting. But you should definitely visit the outside.
18. Dinner at Paprika
We have dinner at Paprika, a traditional Hungarian restaurant within walking distance from here. Duck and venison are very popular in Hungarian restaurants. This venison is served with blueberry sauce. Recommended to try 👌🏻
