We are visiting Lesvos (Lesvos) Island, the 3rd largest island in Greece. This island is an island where you can visit many cultural and religious buildings, visit small villages, enjoy the sea and Greek food. On this tour we will visit the cities of Thermi, Molyvos, Petra, Skala Eressos, Sigri, Kalloni and Plomari, where the famous Greek raki Ouzo is produced. The monastery of Taxiarhis in the Mandamados region, the monastery of Limanos in the Kalloni region and the Sarlica Palace in the Thermi region will be our priority points of visit. We will add the petrified forests in the Unesco World Heritage Site in the fishing village of Sigri to our visit and enjoy the cities of Molyvos and Petra for a sea holiday. We will complete our tour with a visit to Agiasos village, which resembles Turkish villages. For “Lesvos”, which I think has a different atmosphere and mystery of its own, at least 3 days will be enough with a sea vacation. After a 50-minute journey from Ayvalık, you arrive at the port of Lesbos. Since the island is big, it would make sense to rent a car. For car rental, you can get your car from the Avis office, which is 3 minutes walking distance from the port, by making a reservation through the online website or well-known sites such as Booking before your trip. Since it is an island of Greece, Schengen visa and passport are compulsory and the currency is Euro. It is also necessary to pay a foreign exit fee. You can also transfer to other countries via the airport on the island. Another point for renting a car is the airport. You can leave the car you pick up from the airport at the port offices. As an accommodation preference, you can evaluate the Molyvos-Petra regions of Lesbos for the sea holiday region of Lesbos, cheap and quality accommodation options and delicious restaurants.

Since the name of the region comes from the word “Manda”, the cafe next to the church sells yogurt with walnuts and honey in a plastic container. You should definitely experience it.
