Adventure Experiences in Montenegro

1. Hotel Splendido

After renting a car, we first set off for Hotel Splendido, the most beautiful hotel in Kotor. The hotel has its own pool and a tiny beach. You can arrange the accommodation including breakfast for early booking.

2. Bay of Kotor

On the first day, it will be good for you to visit nearby places and laze around the hotel. You can swim in the Bay of Kotor or enjoy canoeing in the bay.

3. Citadela Restaurant

In the evening, you can try seafood risotto and pasta at the Citadela restaurant with a magnificent view in Kotor Old Town, and then have a drink in one of the tiny bars where the locals hang out.

4. Sveti Stefan

On the 2nd day, after having our open buffet breakfast against the bay, we set off to see the Adriatic island of Sveti Stefan. We have a 40-minute drive from the hotel to Sveti Stefan. When Montenegro was under the Venetian protectorate, they built this island to serve as a shelter against the Turks and pirates. Today, the Montenegrin government has leased this place to a hotel group for 30 years in order to revitalise the island. For this reason, it is forbidden to cross the island unless you have a reservation at the hotel. Another way to visit Sveti Stefan is to book a place in a hotel restaurant.

5. Sveti Stefan Beach

You can swim in Sveti Stefan beach, it has a red sandy beach and is not very crowded. You can rent a sunbed for a fee or you can use the beach for free with your towel.

6. Mogren Beach

If we cooled off in the sea, it's time for Budva. The first of the places you should visit in Budva, Montenegro is Mogren beach and the "Ballerina" statue that has been standing for decades at the beginning of Mogren beach. Don't forget to check my profile for the story of the ballerina statue!

7. Old Town

You can swim in the sea on the beach, but it's a bit crowded, let me tell you. Another place you should see is Old Town. It is a pleasant place to visit.

8. Citadela Restaurant

Grab a slice of pizza for 3€ and enjoy it while you explore. Of course, an ice cream🍧 If you prefer to sit and eat, the view of the Citadela restaurant here is also magnificent. If you have no other plans, you can eat here.

9. Perast

Day 3 We are in Perast, my favourite place in Montenegro. We can call it an elite seaside town. Perast is one of the places that must be on your list.

10. St George Island

There are two famous islands in Perast. One of them is Sveti Djordje, St. George Island, which is a monastery island and closed to touristic visits. There is only a church and bell tower belonging to the monastery.

11. Lady of the Rocks

The other is Lady of the Rocks, an artificial island built 600 years ago. For 10-15 Euros you can take a boat from the harbour and go to the island.

12. Streets of Perast

If you don’t visit the museums and churches, it only takes about 10 minutes to walk around Perast. But I recommend exploring the side streets.

13. Conte

Now I am taking you to a place that will be in the top three in your list of places where you eat the best seafood. Conte is also a hotel. The prices are a bit expensive but worth it. You should definitely make a reservation before you go. We tried octopus-squid mixed plate and sea bass. It was marvellous, definitely put it on the list.

14. Kotor-Perast Region

Since Kotor - Perast is 15 minutes by road, it is very easy to get here by bus or car. You can also come here by boat tours departing from the centre of Kotor. This way you can see other places in the Bay of Kotor along the way.

15. Dobrota

You can choose to spend the day in Dobrota. We bought something to drink and spent a quiet evening on the pier against the sea. There are live venues, you can also prefer them.

16. Kotor Castle

On the 4th day I woke up at 6 a.m. to go up to Kotor Castle. I have a path of 1355 steps. I recommend you to go out at dusk so that you do not go out in the hot sun. The ascent and descent took a total of 1.5 hours. 2 hours if you take a rest. But is it worth it for this view, definitely yes. The ascent to the castle is normally 8€ but if you go up before 8 am, there are no attendants. Then we come to the hotel and have a magnificent breakfast with a view of the gulf from the hands of our Turkish chef.

17. Kotor Old Town

Before going to Kotor old town, we stop by the market in front of it and take a look at different products. There are many things from dried mushrooms to different fruit wines.

18. Restaurant Winery Cesare

I added a place we stumbled upon in the side streets of Kotor Old Town to the list. This is Restaurant Winery Cesare. It is recommended to try the veal medallion 👌🏻 Price 14€.

19. Krempita Dessert

Krempita dessert is one of the flavours you should try in Kotor castle. It is made with crispy puff pastry and a pastry cream special to this region. It is light and delicious. For the rest of the day, we complete our trip by visiting the side streets and churches in the fortress.
